Using EU funds for public housing in Javea « Euro Weekly News

64 public housing facilities will be built in Javea with the aid of the European Next Generation, meeting the long-awaited demands of the local community.

Javea´s mayor, Rosa Cardona and the Councilor for Housing and Heritage, Enrique Escriva finalized the assignment of three plots to (EVha) the Valencian Housing and Land Entity for the construction of public housing in Javea.

The plots include one on 8 J Albi Street for the construction of 42 homes and the 14 and 16 Garcilaso Street for the construction of 22 homes. This advancement is part of the Pla VIU, launched by Generalitat which aims to create 10.000 public housing units through the mobilisation of available public land and public-private collaboration.

Following Progamme 6 of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, Javea was able to use the European Next Generation funds assigned to the Valencian Community.

These funds continue to make significant improvements across Costa Blanca, as Benidorm also recently benefited from the EU funds, funded with €4 million for the building of public houses.

Javea´s mayor marked the development as “one more step” taken to facilitate Javea citizens and meet “the demands that the neighbours send us every day.”
