New Year’s Eve brings to an end the Christmas festivities for many, ushering in the start of a new year and a moment to reflect. But just as surely as the festive period comes to an end, many will already be looking ahead to the federal holidays coming up in 2023.
Each year there are dedicated ‘federal holiday’ days, which see most non-essential federal government offices closed and workers given a day of rest.
This will depend on what sector you work in with workers in the hospitality industry, for instance, unlikely to be given the day off. Generally, institutions like schools, banks, businesses and the US stock market will be closed for federal holidays.
