SoftBank sells 1.09% in Zomato for Rs 1,040 crore; Goldman, ADIA buy stake
Japanese tech giant SoftBank, through its affiliate SVF Growth Singapore Pte, has sold a 1.09% stake in food delivery company Zomato through block deals on Friday.According to exchange data, the transaction was executed at 111.2 per share, which valued the deal at 1,040 crore. SoftBank holds a 2.17% stake in the company, at the end of the September 2023 quarter.

US stocks fall at open on elevated Treasury yields, Middle East worries
Wall Street’s main indexes opened lower on Friday as U.S. Treasury yields hovered near multi-year highs following hawkish remarks by Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, while the Middle East conflict kept investors jittery.The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 48.90 points, or 0.15%, at the open to 33,365.27.The S&P 500 opened lower by 4.15 points, or 0.10%, at 4,273.85, while the Nasdaq Composite dropped 28.40 points, or 0.22%, to 13,157.77 at the opening bell.

Tech View: Move above 19,650 could trigger short covering. What traders should do next week
Nifty on Friday ended 82 points lower to form a Doji candle on the daily chart and a long bear candle with an upper shadow on the weekly timeframe.The short-term trend of the Nifty remains negative. A slide below the immediate support of 19,480 could drag Nifty towards another important support of 19,350 levels in the near term. Immediate resistance is placed around 19,650 levels, said Nagaraj Shetti, Technical Research Analyst, HDFC Securities.The hourly momentum indicator is showing a positive divergence, however, price confirmation is missing. The daily momentum indicator has triggered a negative crossover which is a sell signal.

Inflow into Gold ETFs drop to Rs 175 crore in September
“With a continued hike in interest rates in the US, inflation still higher than expectations, and the growth rate slowing down, the appeal of gold as a safe haven and hedge against inflation is expected to continue,” Melvyn Santarita, analyst and manager of research at Morningstar Investment Adviser India, said.
According to the data, gold-linked ETFs saw an inflow of Rs 175.3 crore last month as compared to Rs 1,028 crore in August. The inflow stood at Rs 456 crore in July.

State-run banks sell dollars aggressively, likely for RBI: Report
The rupee was at 83.0850 to the US dollar, near the day’s high, and up from 83.2450 in the previous session.
A very large state-run bank was on the offer on USD/INR, a spot trader said.
“It was a big drop (on USD/INR) and I doubt it was inflow related. Based on the past, it must be the Reserve Bank of India,” he said.
