French restaurant Bistrot Pierre opened its doors to a party of pensioners, all nominated from its partner charity Age Concern Central Lancashire, to enjoy a three-course Menu Pierre meal for free.
This was thanks to a charitable initiative held in the run-up to Christmas. Bistrot Pierre donated a free meal to a resident, carer or charity-user for every Sunday Christmas party booking of six people of more.

This resulted in 30 free lunches for Preston-based residents, which they tucked into earlier this month.
Age Concern Central Lancashire helps residents to both live and age well.
With services covering everything from providing will services and living with memory concerns or dementia, to activities to reduce loneliness and isolation, the charity has over 40 years’ experience in the region promoting positive and healthy ageing.
“A fabulous time was had by all”, said Suzanne Carr, CEO of Age Concern Central Lancashire. “The service and food were second to none and everyone had a wonderful afternoon in beautiful surroundings.

“It was so nice to see people from across all our service areas coming together for a lovely meal and opportunity to socialise. Our service users and carers thoroughly enjoyed themselves and so on behalf of everyone in attendance, many thanks to Bistrot Pierre and the team in Preston for making us all so welcome.”
Age Concern Central Lancashire is one of 17 local charities that Bistrot Pierre has partnered with nationally in this initiative, all chosen for their support of older people in their communities, from befriending schemes and dementia-focused musical programmes to housing and sight assistance initiatives.
