A 90-year-old pensioner has had cash and valuables stolen after falling victim to a bogus caller.
The fraudster knocked on the man’s door on New Year’s Eve pretending to offer gardening work.
While the victim was distracted, he stole a tin from a table, which contained between £60 and £70 and valuable coins worth around £250.
Police investigating the distraction burglary in Church Road, Shedfield, are appealing for witnesses.
