Electronic submission of signed forms now accepted by Republic’s Treasury


The Republic’s Treasury has announced its acceptance of electronically signed forms, provided they are signed with a valid and certified electronic signature and/or seal in accordance with the legislation.

This pertains to the implementation of Regulation (EU) No. 910/2014 on Electronic Identification and Trust Services for Electronic Transactions in the Internal Market, Law of 2018 (55(I)/2018).

According to the Treasury, specific forms can now be sent electronically to the corresponding division of the Republic’s Treasury via a suitable, valid, and certified electronic signature (and seal where applicable).

However, forms scanned with a handwritten signature will not be accepted electronically.
The forms and their respective divisions are as follows:

  1. Accounting Services Sector (FIMAS) – Contact: [email protected]
    • Authorization for Payments from FIMAS (for creating a new creditor and/or updating details, e.g., bank account).
  2. Hourly Paid Government Personnel Division – Contact: [email protected]
    • Payment Method Authorization for Salaries (for declaration or change of bank account)
    • Mailing Address Authorization (for declaration or change of postal address)
    • Disassociation from associations.
  3. Payroll Services Sector – Contact: [email protected]
    • Declaration for Claiming Tax Deductions
    • Payment Authorization for Salary via Bank Transfer (for declaration or change of bank account)
    • Mailing Address Authorization (for declaration or change of postal address).
  4. The Pensions Section – Contact: [email protected]
    • Payment Authorization for Monthly Pension (for change of details, e.g., bank account)
    • Declaration for Claiming Tax Deductions (Form T.F.59)
    • Mailing Address Authorization (for change of postal address).
  5. New Pension Scheme – Contact: [email protected]
    • Payment Authorization for Monthly Pension (for change of details, e.g., bank account)
    • Declaration for Claiming Tax Deductions (Form T.F.59)
    • Mailing Address Authorization (for change of postal address).

This announcement marks a significant step towards streamlining administrative procedures in the Republic, ensuring greater efficiency and convenience for citizens and organizations alike.
