Roma Finance has expanded its underwriting team with three additional underwriters to meet growing demand for bridging and development finance.
The lender has hired Shane Francis, Jason Metcalfe and Katie Devine to its team and brings the amassed underwriting experience to over 120 years.
Francis will take on the role of senior underwriter and joins from LHV UK where he was lending manager for just under a year. He has also held roles at Bank North, Paragon and Propel Finance.
Metcalfe will be an underwriter and was previously at Shawbrook as a senior bridging underwriter for just under half a year. He previously worked at Roma for around a year and previously worked at Together and Natwest.
Katie Devine will be a senior underwriter and worked at Affirmative Finance as an underwriter for nearly 16 years.
The team is led by Lorraine Hart, head of credit, and consists of senior underwriters Adrian France and Jack Ainsworth.
The underwriting team leader is James Edwards and underwriter includes Scott Brooks, Farah Akhtar, and Kai Shahban.
The senior underwriters are divided into two teams, with the flow team focusing on short-term bridging and the structured team taking on complex cases.
Hart said: “As the head of the underwriting department, I am delighted that we have been joined by the exceptional talents of Shane, Jason and Katie this year.
“Their contributions have made a significant positive impact on our structured underwriting team, particularly in light of the remarkable growth we’ve experienced within the business recently. I’m also looking forward to seeing how many more record funding months we’re able to achieve within the company.”
