RAW Capital Partners has hired Mark Stevens as the investment and mortgages firm’s head of credit.
The Guernsey-based business says the banking veteran’s role will be “to optimise processes, develop teams by helping them to better understand and mitigate risks associated with the business, and contribute to the firm’s product development”.
Stevens joins from Northern Trust, where he left as vice president after just over three years.
In a 40-year career, Stevens has also worked in senior positions at Butterfield Bank, and Barclays Bank.
The investment firm says he has been a member of multiple credit and risk committees, handling lending propositions related to property, investments and direct loans to funds and hedge funds.
RAW Capital Partners interim managing director Ben Nichols says: “I’m sure that his [Stevens’] extensive experience and expertise in credit risk management will be invaluable as we continue to grow and enhance our service offerings.”
Stevens adds: “The speed and flexibility of RAW Capital Partners’ service offerings were key attributes that attracted me to the role, and I look forward to contributing my experience to the business.
“In a smaller organisation, I believe I can add significant value and help grow the business, taking advantage of the flexibility to make quick decisions free from the complexities often faced by larger banks and financial institutions.”
The investment firm’s mortgage fund provides specialist home loans to foreign nationals and UK expats for British buy-to-let properties, as well as mortgages for Channel Islanders.
