Drew McIntyre made his first WWE appearance since WrestleMania 39 on Saturday night after speculation about his future.

There have been plenty of reports and rumours about the status of the Scottish Warrior, but he is back and in a prominent position after setting his sights on GUNTHER at Money In The Bank.

The O2 in London got to its feet with an almighty roar when his music hit moments after the Ring General successfully defended the Intercontinental Title against Matt Riddle at the event.

He didn’t have long to celebrate though, with McIntyre making his way down to the ring with the 18,000 strong crowd behind one of their own.

He laid out the champ with a Claymore kick, leaping up to his feet and making it clear he is coming for the gold.

It was a welcome sight for fans, with many left wondering of McIntyre’s silence over the past three months meant he could leave the company altogether.

However, WWE boss Triple H addressed the reports during the post show press conference after Money In The Bank, and insisted suggestions of any problems between the parties were ‘news’ to him.

‘It’s also a funny thing, the amount of speculation that happens around things. I read stuff all the time that’s printed and put out there. “Sources say”. 75% of it is completely off base,’ he said, responding to a question from the MailOnline’s Alex McCarthy.

‘If Drew had an issue, it’s news to me. He was out with an injury and getting stuff fixed.’

The Game – who said he and McIntyre actually laughed about the speculation – admitted he was ‘thrilled’ to have him back, and hinted that the former world champion us is here to stay.

‘While he was out, he had something else to get fixed so we did it, and here he is. He’s an amazing performer,’ he added. ‘He is one of the highlight superstars in this era. Thrilled to have him back and hopefully, he’s here for the rest of his career.’
