SEI hires financial services veteran as COO

SEI has announced the appointment of David Hinton as chief operating officer (COO) of SEI Investments Europe Limited (SEIL), pending regulatory approval.

Hinton has over 15 years of experience in the financial services sector and was previously deputy COO at FNZ where he was responsible for managing strategic platform operations.

Prior to FNZ, he held numerous senior roles at Barclays, including business banking lending chief investment officer (CIO), head of wealth and investment management operations, and head of platform and service management.

He will be reporting to SEIL CEO Jim London.

London said: “Our operational and technology capabilities are the heart of our service delivery, and we are proud to drive operational excellence in the market. We continue to drive growth and scale for our clients through our people, processes, and technology, and David’s appointment reinforces this commitment.

“David brings considerable experience in managing platforms and a broad range of products and services, which will be invaluable as the companies we work with continue to embrace change and solve problems with confidence. His leadership tenure and experience in the UK market brings unique insights into the client outcomes SEI aims to deliver. We’re thrilled to welcome David to the team and look forward to working with him as we power the future of wealth.”

Hinton added: “Expectations for a more connected experience are a key driver of the financial services industry’s evolution globally. To power those demands, businesses need to have an infrastructure that ensures operational resiliency and efficiency. SEI has a proven track record of providing the operational support, infrastructure, solutions, and expertise financial organisations need to scale their businesses and propel future growth. I’m excited to join the SEI team to capitalise on opportunities that will drive that next chapter of growth for our clients and company in the UK.”

SEI delivers technology and investment solutions “that connect the financial services industry”.
