Awards season for 2023 kicked off with the 80th Annual Golden Globes on January 10 in Beverly Hills, California. The awards show looked back on some of the best TV shows and movies that graced screens everywhere in 2022, such as “Elvis,” “The Fabelmans,” “Abbott Elementary” and “The White Lotus.” Even though last year’s television and cinema were the focal point of the night, we at Reviewed were wondering which beauty products were behind the stars’ looks. Here, you’ll find a small sampling of the items used at the 2023 Golden Globes to get the attendees red carpet-ready.

1. This shimmering nail polish from Essie

Margot Robbie's 2023 Golden Globes manicure called for the Essie Expressie FX Nail Holo Top Coat.

Nail artist Tom Bachik teamed up with nail care brand Essie to give actress Margot Robbie a sparkling manicure for the big night. The lead star of “Babylon” wore the Expressie FX Nail Holo Top Coat, a polish with a shiny, holographic finish, over medium-length, rounded nails. “This gave our nails just the right amount of sparkle to mimicking [sic] the sequins in the dress,” Bachik said on his Instagram. Bachik also reached for the Essie Gel Setter Top Coat “for a deep, rich high-gloss shine.”

2. This glowing highlighter from Charlotte Tilbury

Lily James wore the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Glow Glide Face Architect Highlighter in “Moonlit Glow” to the 2023 Golden Globes.

Actress Lily James’s vibrant red carpet glow is credited to the Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Glow Glide Face Architect Highlighter in “Moonlit Glow.” Makeup artist Nina Park brushed the powder highlighter across the Charlotte Tilbury ambassador’s face to create what she called a “golden hour glow effect.” The shade “Moonlit Glow” is one of seven shades of the new highlighter, each of which claim to create “a multi-dimensional megawatt glow.”

3. This silky leave-in conditioner from Sol de Janeiro

Ana De Armas' "face-framing hairstyle" was prepped with the Sol de Janeiro Milky Leave-In Conditioner for the 2023 Golden Globes.

To create Ana De Armas’ sleek, “face-framing hairstyle,” hairstylist Jenny Cho teamed up with Sol de Janeiro, a Brazilian-inspired beauty brand. Cho primed the “Blonde” star’s hair for heat-styling with the Milky Leave-In Conditioner, a styling product for all hair types and textures. “I generously spritzed onto hair focusing on mid-shaft through the ends to detangle, hydrate, fight frizz and add heat protection,” Cho said of the styling process. Cho also used the brand’s Brazilian Glossy Nourishing Hair Oil to add shine and protection from the humidity.

4. This peach-tinted lip gloss from Anastasia Beverly Hills

For the 2023 Golden Globes, Jamie Lee Curtis's pout was coated with a layer of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in "Peachy."

Jamie Lee Curtis went with a glossy lip that comes courtesy of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Lip Gloss in the shade “Peachy.” Makeup artist Grace Ahn partnered with the cosmetics brand to create Curtis’s entire makeup look for the night, and Curtis’s peach-toned lips were also accompanied by the brand’s lip liner in the nude-beige shade “Hazelnut” and the Matte & Satin Velvet Lipstick in the color “Taupe Beige.”

5. This nude lip combo from Urban Decay

Natasha Lyonne's lip combination for the 2023 Golden Globes consisted of the Urban Decay Vice Lip Bond Glossy Liquid Lipstick in "Pleased" and the 24/7 Glide on Lip Pencil in "Naked."

“Russian Doll” star Natasha Lyonne adorned a “your lips but better” situation at this year’s Golden Globes. Makeup artist Robert Rumsey worked alongside Urban Decay for the ceremony and lined her lips with the 24/7 Glide On Lip Pencil in the shade “Naked,” then filled them in with the Vice Lip Bond Glossy Liquid Lipstick in the apricot-nude color called “Pleased.” The brand maintains that the lip liner “holds color in place and prevents feathering” while the lipstick has a wear-time of up to 16 hours.

6. This hair straightener from Dyson 

Michelle Yeoh's sleek strands at the 2023 Golden Globes were made possible with the Dyson Corrale Straightener.

“Everything Everywhere All At Once” star Michelle Yeoh rocked a long, sleek hairstyle for the night. Yeoh’s hairstylist for the occasion, Robert Vetica, worked with Dyson to prep the actress’s tresses for the red carpet. Vetica used the Dyson Corrale Straightener as the final step in Yeoh’s look “to ensure the perfect shine and protection from damage,” he explained. According to the brand, the straightener uses “flexing plates designed to shape around your hair for enhanced styling with less heat and half the damage.”

7. This flexible-hold hairspray from Fekkai

Jenna Ortega's '90s-inspired hairstyle at the 2023 Golden Globes was perfected with the Fekkai Clean Stylers Flexi-Hold Hairspray.

Jenna Ortega, the star of hit Netflix show “Wednesday,” took to the red carpet wearing a ’90s-inspired bob. Hairstylist David Stanwell worked with Fekkai for the big night, and the hairstyle managed to stay intact thanks to the Fekkai Clean Stylers Flexi-Hold Hairspray, a self-proclaimed “ultra-fine mist for maximum styling versatility” for all hair types and textures. “We didn’t want it too rigid or set, and I still wanted to work with the haircut we had just done a few weeks ago,” Stanwell said regarding the loose nature of the look. “I love having the haircut make a statement, sculpting it around her face and playing with shapes that work.”

8. This dazzling eyeshadow palette from Danessa Myricks

Sheryl Lee Ralph's 2023 Golden Globes eye makeup look was created with the Danessa Myricks Lightwork IV Transcendence Palette.

“Abbott Elementary” star Sheryl Lee Ralph’s makeup look for the evening was all about the glitter and glow. Makeup artist Mila Thomas partnered with Danessa Myricks Beauty to create a radiant look, and the roster of products for the night included the Lightwork IV Transcendence Palette, a 14-color palette for the eyes and face. Thomas used the shade “Aura” (lavender with an aqua chrome finish) along Ralph’s lower waterline for “a smoky effect.”

 9. This sculpting hair gel from René Furterer

Selena Gomez's half-updo at the 2023 Golden Globes was styled using the René Furterer Style Holding Gel.

Selena Gomez’s half-updo ponytail for the 2023 Golden Globes got some help from the René Furterer Style Holding Gel. Marissa Marino, the “Only Murders in the Building” actress’s hairstylist for the night, joined forces with the brand to create this voluminous look that certainly required some serious hold. The gel purports to give hair a “strong yet flexible hold ideal for sculpting and shaping hair,” in addition to providing strands with a glossy sheen.
