Hiltons at war! Inside the venomous family feud over money, power and fame that has all of Beverly Hills talking… after Paris and Kathy slammed Kyle Richards’ estranged husband Mauricio Umansky

The Hiltons are one of the most powerful families in Hollywood  – worth over $14billion – but their fractured dynamic has recently come into the spotlight.

Paris Hilton and mom Kathy have slammed sister Kyle Richards’ ex-husband Mauricio Umansky for ‘using their name’ to plug his new Buying Beverly Hills reality show – after first getting his start in real estate thanks to mogul Rick Hilton.

Umansky, 53, who has split from Kyle, 55, first raised eyebrows when he opened up about his departure from the Hilton fold on his show, claiming he ‘got kind of f***ed by Hilton & Hyland.’

This sparked uproar from Kathy Hilton, 65, who said he gave ‘one day notice’ and poached staff before leaving husband Rick’s company back in 2011.

Then Paris, 43, slammed Mauricio on social media for rehashing the story of his acrimonious departure from the family business.

As the Hilton family feud reignites – DailyMail.com looks back at the venomous history of the socialites…

MAURICIO SPARKS FEUD BETWEEN KATHY AND KYLE

The feud began back in 2011 when Mauricio was a successful real estate agent working for brother-in-law Rick at luxury film Hilton & Hyland.

He was their most successful agent for more than eight years in a row and earned commission to the tune of $200,000.

He previously told the NY Post: ‘You know what I did back then, is I actually started being a contrarian, as a real estate agent, and I started buying.

‘I owned the LA Times from the perspective of taking out advertisements. So if you opened up the LA Times, it was like 30 pages and I was on 20 of them.’

He then left the firm in 2011 to start his own luxury brokerage firm, The Agency following a fall-out with Rick – which he claims was over him failing to be promoted to partner at the firm.

In a preview for his series Buying Beverly Hills, Mauricio can be seen discussing his departure from the Hilton fold.

The dashing reality star explained that he wanted to become a partner at the company but ‘got kind of f***ed by Hilton & Hyland.’

On his new Netflix series Buying Beverly Hills, Mauricio spilled the story of how he left Hilton & Hyland and triggered an explosive rift between Kyle and her

He laid out his version of events: ‘And when I say: “f***ed,” you know, like, today I’m happy, but there was 100 agents at Hilton & Hyland. They did a billion dollars for the first time a year, I was 19.6% of their production, and I went to Rick and said: “I’d really like equity, right? And to be a partner.”‘

To hear Mauricio tell it, Rick then took the matter to Hilton & Hyland’s president Jeffrey Hyland and came back with no for an answer.

‘Then I went home,’ said Mauricio: ‘I talked to Kyle, I go: “This is really gonna cause a lot of stress between you and your sister and your family, and I don’t wanna do this move of leaving and starting a company if you’re not comfortable.”‘

Kyle however ‘was 100% supportive,’ and Mauricio broke away from Hilton & Hyland to embark on his own enterprise, The Agency.

His old bosses, he recalled, asked: ‘How did you not give us any warning or any issue?’ prompting Mauricio to incredulously respond: ‘Warning?’

In a confessional, Mauricio diplomatically said: ‘I think Hilton & Hyland is an amazing company and I would never be caught dead speaking poorly about them because I don’t think poorly about them, and I am Rick’s brother-in-law.’

He added: ‘But unfortunately it got sour because it really affected the family – Kyle more than anybody. You know, her family stopped speaking to her, but she understood that what was done to me was wrong and she stood by me, and at the end of the day, I needed that.’

The Agency is now worth an estimated $57billion.

KATHY CLAIMS MAURICIO POACHED STAFF AND GAVE ONE DAY NOTICE

Kathy Hilton claimed that Mauricio Umansky gave one-day notice before leaving her husband’s real estate company and poached staff during The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills reunion
‘When he left, he did call on a Thursday,’ Kathy said of Mauricio’s departure. ‘And Rick said, ”OK, when are you planning on leaving?” And he said on Friday. And [Rick] said, You’re family. Just know opening your own business is tough. The door is always open for you. Just don’t poach on my staff or my agents.’

Kathy Hilton, 65 and half sister Kyle have famously locked horns over the years – with Kathy claiming that Mauricio gave one-day notice before leaving her husband’s real estate company and poached staff during  the recentThe Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills reunion.

Kathy was asked by host Andy Cohen, 55, about the ‘tension’ that was caused when Mauricio left in 2011.

‘Well, Kathy, it’s no secret that Mauricio starting The Agency created tension between the families,’ Andy said after Kathy made a late ‘surprise’ entrance to the third and final reunion episode.

Flashbacks were shown of Mauricio telling his wife Kyle Richards, 55, about being approached to start his own company while Kyle and her sister Kathy sat next to each other.

‘Mau even wrote in his book regarding Rick’s company that, “If they paid me what I deserved and showed me an inkling of professional love”, he would have stayed, “but they didn’t see it that way.” Those are all quotes,’ Andy said.

Mauricio in his Netflix series Buying Beverly Hills talked about the family feud and the creation of The Agency

‘When he left, he did call on a Thursday,’ Kathy said. ‘And Rick said, ”OK, when are you planning on leaving?” And he said on Friday. And [Rick] said, You’re family. Just know opening your own business is tough. The door is always open for you. Just don’t poach on my staff or my agents.’

‘And did he?,’ Andy asked.

‘A few. And that put Kyle and I in kind of a funky…’ Kathy said.

Kathy said that Kyle was aware of the circumstances and Kyle insisted that she did not want ‘to get into that stuff.’

‘I really don’t,’ Kyle said.

Kathy continued talking about it and Kyle made a point on Mauricio’s behalf.

‘But we also had people that were under him in the Umansky Group at Hilton & Hyland. So he had built his group within Hilton & Hyland,’ Kyle said. ‘I don’t want to talk about business stuff like that.’

Kylie and Mauricio married in 1996 and have since welcomed three daughters into the world together – Alexia, 27, Sophia, 24, and Portia, 16.

Mauricio also became close with Kyle’s eldest daughter Farrah Aldjufrie, 35, whom she had with her first husband, real estate developer Guraish Aldjufrie.

At present a question mark is still hanging over the state of Kyle and Mauricio’s marriage, as they have separated but have denied they are headed for divorce.

PARIS HILTON ACCUSES MAURICIO OF USING HILTON NAME FOR FAME

Paris Hilton blasted her uncle Mauricio for publicly discussing a family feud that erupted years ago because of business
She denounced Mauricio for ‘using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show’

This month Paris Hilton then blasted Mauricio for publicly discussing the family feud.

She denounced Mauricio for ‘using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show.’

‘My father is a consummate gentleman and has always taken the higher road,’ she wrote on Instagram. ‘He would never speak negatively about his family — especially in the press.

‘Frankly we are all sick of him using the Hilton name every chance he gets to plug his lame show. It is enough already..’

ANDY COHEN FUELS FEUD FIRE

Mauricio Umansky evoked the wrath of Paris after he shared details of his feud with her father’s real estate company on his show, Buying Beverly Hills

Andy Cohen then weighed in on the debacle after fans questioned if he or Bravo were up in arms over Mauricio’s discussion of the rift on Netflix – and not Bravo.

Speaking on his show, Radio Andy, Andy insisted much of what Mauricio was sharing was ‘his story to tell.’

Andy, 55, said he had been seeing the reaction from fans over the revelation, with viewers arguing both he and Bravo ‘should be pissed’ that Umansky had been disclosing information about the feud on his own show – rather than The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

‘By the way, tonight [March 13] is the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion part three and I just want you to know, I heard the Smith Sisters saying that they had seen Mauricio‘s Netflix promo where he is talking about the agency and how it started and his feud with Rick Hilton and I would like to say that we address this tonight,’ he assured listeners on his show.

‘We get Kathy [Hilton] and Kyle‘s side of the story tonight on the Beverly Hills reunion. There are a lot of people who are saying, I’m seeing online a lot of people saying that I or Bravo should be pissed about Mauricio revealing stuff on Netflix on his show, but I would say a lot of what he’s revealing is his story to tell and a lot and what Kyle is revealing on Beverly Hills is her side of the story.’

‘So, people think, “Oh, Bravo should be furious. Why is he saying this on his show?” Well, it’s his show on Netflix and I think,’ he adds.

‘He doesn’t have a diamond. Kyle has the diamond,’ Andy’s co-host John Hill said.

Speaking on his show, Radio Andy , Andy insisted much of what Mauricio was sharing was ‘his story to tell’ (pictured with Kathy)

‘Exactly and you know, I think that in the case of this Hilton and Highland stuff, I can’t speak for Kyle on any level, but my gut is that there was probably so far she wanted to go on her show because she didn’t want to further complicate an already complicated relationship with her sister, so there you go.

‘But I did take the opportunity tonight as we were discussing what happened with Mauricio and Kyle‘s marriage to also find out from Kathy and Kyle from their perspective what happened with the split between Mauricio and Rick Hilton, so you don’t have to wait for the Netflix show to get their answer. You can see that tonight on Bravo.’

Over the years, the Richards sisters have had many fallouts and reconciliations. Most recently, the

In December 2022, Hilton said that she and Richards have not spoken to one another in ‘a while’.

They were pictured together at an event together several months later but were ‘still not speaking’.

Last summer, they reunited at Kim’s daughter Whitney’s bridal shower.

The following month, Hilton announced her exit from the Bravo show.

During a rare sit-down interview with all three sisters, Kim revealed that Richards has been keeping to herself amid her marital issues and separation from Mauricio Umansky.

KATHY AND KYLE’S HISTORY OF BAD BLOOD

Kathy and Kyle are pictured with their fellow Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills Dorit Kemsley (left) and Lisa Rinna (right) at the 2021 premiere of Kyle’s film Halloween Kills

Kathy and Kyle have had their ups and downs throughout the years – having public feuds and onscreen rows.

Kyle and sister Kim Richards joined the hit Bravo hit series RHOBH in 2010, but Kim made the decision to leave the show in 2015.

Five years later, Kathy joined in 2020.

The two had previously gotten into a rift back in 2018 when Kyle decided to produce the series, American Woman, which was inspired by Kyle’s childhood, and also their mother, Kathleen Richards. Eventually, the sisters worked out their issues, and were seen celebrating Kim’s birthday together later that same year.

In 2022 Kyle and Kathy entered a rift while filming a season 12 cast trip to Aspen, Colorado. During the getaway Hilton had a breakdown regarding her younger sibling.

At the time, fellow castmate Lisa Rinna stated, per Us Weekly, ‘We were at the club and Kathy was having an absolute meltdown. I’ve never seen anything like this in my life.’

She also recalled that Kathy had been, ‘screaming she “made” Kyle. Kathy’s responsible for Kyle and she said, “I will destroy Kyle and her family if it’s the last thing I ever do.”‘

Kathy sensed trouble in her sister Kyle R and Mauricio’s marriage long before their shock separation after nearly three decades together

During the episode, Richards had expressed, ‘I really, honestly believed that we would never go to a bad place ever again. And I don’t know how I can fix this.’

However, in July 2022, before the episode was aired, Kathy admitted to Us Weekly, ‘I was frustrated. There’s not an excuse for it.’

She claimed that she had been ‘overtired’ and ‘I just wanted someone to vent to. And I guess that what I’ve learned is — I love both my sisters. I love them. They’re my blood, and I never should have said anything to anybody.’

However, the Aspen comments came to light once again during the season 12 reunion, leaving Kyle in tears and refusing to join in on the toast at the very end.

In February last year, the Little House On The Prairie actress gave an update on her relationship with Kathy, and told Page Six, ‘I have not seen her in a while.’

She then revealed to the outlet, ‘Things are not great since the reunion to be honest.’ Last month in April, Kyle expressed hope about smoothing out her relationship with her half-sister, Kathy, while talking to People.

Kyle and Mauricio pictured with their three daughters Alexia, 27, Sophia, 24, and 16-year-old Portia as well as Kyle’s oldest daughter Farrah, 35

‘We’ll get there one day, you know, it takes time. Family’s complicated. You know, we’re no different than anybody else except we’re in the public eye. But, we’ve gone through hard times before and we’ve always come back together. So that’s the hope.’

While opening up to the publication, Richards revealed that she has yet to meet Paris Hilton’s baby boy, Phoenix Barron, who was born via surrogate in January 2023, ‘I have not seen baby Phoenix.’

‘I wish I could say that I have, but I haven’t. I’ve seen pictures and he is beautiful and perfect, just like she was when she [Paris Hilton] was a baby.’

In March 2023, both Kyle and Kathy crossed paths at Elton John’s annual Oscar viewing party in West Hollywood and paused for a photo together, hinting that the sisters have reconciled.

However, at the time, a source revealed to People that, ‘Nothing has really changed since the reunion. They’re still not speaking. Nobody has made an effort to sit down and patch things up.’

The insider further added, ‘Kyle is busy focusing on herself right now and Kathy is doing the same. But they’re family and each of them are supportive of the other and always will be.’

In November 2023 Kathy got emotional as she recounted how she and Kyle managed to reconcile after their explosive argument on the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.

Kyle has been romantically linked to 29-year-old singer Morgan Wade since last year

After not speaking to each other for months following their series’ tense reunion and Hilton’s meltdown during a season 12 cast trip to Aspen last year, the socialite revealed to Page Six how they mended their relationship ahead of their niece Whitney Davis’ wedding in June.

While the sisters were both getting ready for Davis’ big day on June 24, they fatefully ran into each other at a ‘very quiet’ salon in Aspen.

Upon seeing her older sibling walk in, Hilton said Richards let out a joyful shriek and excitedly informed the woman washing her hair that her sister had just arrived.

‘She goes, ‘Oh, there’s my sister!’ Hilton remembering. ‘And I was literally like … it made me feel so good… I hadn’t seen her yet. But she was so excited telling the person, so it made me feel good.’

Upon recalling the moment they buried the hatchet, the mother-of-four got teary-eyed and choked up.

Hilton has also said she sensed trouble in her sister and Mauricio‘s marriage long before their shock separation after nearly three decades together.

While many fans were stunned to learn that the seemingly picture-perfect couple’s  relationship was struggling, the reality star shed some light on her younger sibling’s mindset over the past few years.

Kyle and Mauricio, seen here in 1998, have yet to file for divorce since separating nearly eight months ago

‘Kyle, she’s not a compulsive person,’ Kathy, 64, said during the highly-awaited part two of the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 reunion, which aired on Wednesday.

The socialite, who has been married to real estate baron Richard Hilton since 1979, explained that Richards ‘doesn’t just jump in and make a decision.’

‘Kyle didn’t decide this in three months. … I bet she had been thinking [about this] for the last three or four years. I shouldn’t say that … but I did,’ the mother-of-four added.

Kathy noted that in the wake of the pair’s separation, which they announced in July 2023, that Mauricio’s been ‘going one way’ and ‘she’s going one way.’
