Basildon Conservatives say they will maintain a financially viable council and keep council tax low for residents, while delivering “value for money” on services.
The Conservatives have also promised to continue to support the recently reopened Laindon Community Centre.
The party has pledged to be strong on law and order, with continued investment in community wardens along with the continuation of the borough’s Public Space Protection Order.
The Conservatives say they will deliver their “safe and sound” project, investing £40million in renewing the borough’s estates.
The party says it will continue to invest in leisure, with a 10-year programme investing in play areas and the building of Pitsea Swimming Pool.
The Conservatives also set out their town centre vision, pledging to deliver on a £4.5million investment in a new digital hub and £10 million of investment in new food and drink outlets, public realms works and regeneration projects.
The party also says the environment is core to its plans. The Conservatives have committed to make the council net zero carbon by 2030, by overhauling the council’s energy efficiency and increasing how much the borough recycles.
Another central tenant of its elections manifesto is protecting the green belt from overdevelopment and lobbying government on housing targets.
The Tories say they will demand more money from Essex County Council to fix potholes.
Conservative Pitsea North East candidate Craig Rimmer said: “Law and order is key to us as we hear that from residents out on the doorsteps.
“We are also making the renewal of the borough’s estates one of our main aims as that is key to so many people and will change many lives for the better.”
