Boots has £30 off a heated throw that shoppers say ‘saves money on heating’

We may be experiencing an unseasonably warm October but we know that it won’t be long until the temperature starts to drop. Boots has a good deal on a heated throw that many shoppers are snapping up ahead of the coldest months.

There’s £30 off the Dreamland Intelliheat Faux Fur Warming Throw which comes in a snuggly Alaskan Husky-style faux fur material, with Fallow Deer and Zebra options also available. Previously £129.99, the throw is now priced down to £99.99. You can also pick up the throw at the reduced price of £99.99 from Amazon and for £99 at Argos too.

Some people are buying it in a bid to stave off turning on the heating, especially as it only take five minutes to warm up and the manufacturer says it costs as little as 1p over seven hours of usage. Also, the blanket’s ‘intelligent software’ means that it detects its temperature 25 times per second to provide a comfortable heat, according to a ChronicleLive report.

Poll: Have you started your Christmas shopping yet?

It scores an average of 4.8 out of 5 stars in more than 90 ratings from Boots shoppers. One said: “I can’t really think of anyone who wouldn’t love these blankets. They are nice to look at, but obviously the main attraction is that they are so warm and lovely to sit under.

“I work from home and so it’s constantly being dragged around the house from office to couch and sometimes even the bed. “The temperature control means you can have it very low to stop your legs getting cold when you’re sitting at your desk to high when you come in from the cold and need to warm up fast.”

Machine-washable and tumble dryer safe, the blanket comes with timer functions and a detachable control so it can also be used as a regular blanket. Just under 90 percent of reviewers said they would recommend it to a friend.

One shopper posted: “This is a really thick throw and so warm even without turning it on. Perfect for a cold winter’s day. Saves money without having to turn the heating on in these expensive times.” And another added: “Amazing luxury throw, good weight, heats quickly highly recommended in cost of living crisis worth the investment in great product. Single person use but can cosy up and share on sofa.”

Not everyone was impressed with the throw, however, with a small number of shoppers leaving negative reviews about its “poor” quality. One complained that the fur “felt cheap”, while someone else said they found that “loose fibres” ended up on their clothes and furniture – but others disagreed, praising it as “excellent quality”.
