Aegon chief technology officer Nick Rodway departs

Aegon UK’s chief technology officer (CTO) Nick Rodway will be leaving the business at the end of the month, Money Marketing has learned.

Rodway, who joined from KPMG in January 2019, led Aegon’s technology operations. He replaced Richard Denning, Aegon chief digital officer, who resigned from the post in September 2018.

Previous roles for Rodway include head of technology for trading and operations at Fidelity Investment Management from 2008 to 2015.

Rodway has more than 25 years’ experience in senior leadership positions in financial services companies spanning the wealth management, asset management, banking, trading, software, and consulting sectors.

A spokesperson for Aegon confirmed Rodway’s departure to Money Marketing.

They said: “After a 40-year career in the industry, Nick Rodway will be leaving his role as chief technology officer at Aegon UK at the end of October. Nick has played a critical role in the success of Aegon UK since his appointment as CTO in 2020, working across both Aegon UK and the global IT community. We thank Nick for all his hard work during his time here and wish him well for the future.”

Exact reasons for his departure from the business have not been disclosed as yet.

Rodway could not be reached for comment.
