Phil Mickelson would surely be sporting a smile after Saturday’s play at the JCB Golf & Country Club. Although he had managed to find some of his game back on Friday only to finish over the par mark in the second round, his teammate seems to be having the best run ever. Andy Ogletree appears to have the best chance at lifting the LIV Golf UK trophy and the prize money that comes along with it.
Yes, the payout isn’t too different this time either. The LIV Golf event in the UK will also award its winner of the individual category with a whopping $4 million out of the total $25 million. However, $5 million out of the total purse will be set aside for the team event, out of which $3 million will be awarded to the top team. The runner-up golfer will receive $2.25 million, while the squad at T2 will receive $1.5 million.

Although Mickelson’s teammate might have the highest chance of raking in the win, that doesn’t mean the other professionals would just take up their bags and leave. They will surely try to clinch the title as the final day of play tees off at the JCB Golf & Country Club in the UK.

Andy Ogletree in hopes of claiming his first LIV Golf win in the UK
Andy Ogletree seems to be on a roll. The golfer carded a 6-under on both days to register a total figure of 12-under after Saturday. He did so while carding 13 birdies and 1 bogey. Interestingly, 6 of those birdies came on the second day, which he dished out flawlessly without any bogeys or double bogeys. Moreover, if he manages to win the event, then the American professional would be raking in his first LIV Golf victory.
The golfer’s previous best came at the LIV Golf tournament in Adelaide, where he finished a T3, the only top-10 finish in his 2024 season. This, along with his other placements, has helped Ogletree rake in 17 points on the season-long leaderboard, allowing him to place in the 38th position. However, a win here would mean a considerable jump in the rankings.

But the question arises: will he be able to deliver? Or will the likes of the in-form Tyrrell Hatton or Jon Rahm, placed currently at T2 and T3, respectively, shoot past the athlete to claim the title of champion and the lucrative prize money? Well, the fans need only wait a bit more to find out!
