Investing.com – U.K. equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

At the close in London, the lost 0.22%.

The biggest gainers of the session on the were International Consolidated Airlines Group S.A. (LON:), which rose 6.18% or 9.20 points to trade at 158.15 at the close. Vodafone Group PLC (LON:) added 5.69% or 3.76 points to end at 69.85 and Scottish Mortgage Investment Trust PLC (LON:) was up 5.53% or 43.20 points to 824.20 in late trade.

Biggest losers included Reckitt Benckiser Group PLC (LON:), which lost 14.58% or 766.00 points to trade at 4,486.00 in late trade. Imperial Brands PLC (LON:) declined 2.56% or 44.50 points to end at 1,695.50 and GSK plc (LON:) shed 2.26% or 38.20 points to 1,649.60.

Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 870 to 855 and 716 ended unchanged on the London Stock Exchange.

In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.19% or 4.05 to $2,163.45 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.09% or 0.07 to hit $81.19 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $85.45 a barrel.

GBP/USD was unchanged 0.16% to 1.27, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.20% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 103.10.
