Rafael Nadal is also expanding his investments in the hotel sector. The Spanish is recovering from physical problems, in order to get back on the court in 2024, for what could be his last tennis season, but in the meantime he is investing in Hotel.Nadal founded the Zel company in December 2022, which includes a partnership agreement with Meliá Hotels International.Rafa told some weeks ago to Forbes about this new project: “The launch of our hotel brand is a project I have had in mind for a long time.

ZEL is synonymous with feeling good at all times and enjoying life and how we live it throughout the Mediterranean. I was really attracted to this new concept that we have been working on with Meliá from the start. I’m confident that ZEL will be a great success.”The first hotel opened on Rafa’s homeland, in Mallorca, Spain on July 1st.

In 2025, the Spanish tennis star and his company should open a new hotel in Mexico, in Sayulita, a city overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The project involves the construction of 145 luxurious rooms built around a large central patio and restaurants.Architect Alvaro Sans told Architectural Digest about the project: “The patio has been a staple of Mediterranean culture since the ancient Greeks, serving as a space for socializing.

As architects, we find it to be the most beautiful place. By enclosing the open space, the patio creates a stage that is controlled by the architecture, with olive trees and the sound of water that relaxes the senses, inviting the sensations of vacation.”
