Engineer Amani Al-Azzam, Secretary General of Jordan’s Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, underscored the critical importance of investing in renewable energy during her presentation at the inaugural “European Union-Jordan Business Forum 2024.” The forum, themed “Green Growth Sectors and Investment in Renewable Energy,” convened to explore opportunities for enhancing European Union investments in Jordan and fostering green energy initiatives.
In her address on behalf of Minister Dr. Saleh Al-Kharabsheh, Al-Azzam emphasized that renewable energy sources currently account for approximately 30% of Jordan’s energy mix. She stressed the need for leveraging modern technologies to achieve cleaner energy production and reduce carbon emissions in line with global standards. The Ministry, she highlighted, is steadfast in diversifying energy sources to enhance sustainability across various sectors.
Al-Azzam acknowledged the significant support extended by the European Union to Jordan’s energy sector, highlighting the fruitful partnership aimed at advancing green energy initiatives.
