ISA CTEEP obtained the environmental installation license for its Riacho Grande project in Brazil’s São Paulo state.
The project involves a new substation with 800MVA capacity, two extensions of existing substations, construction of two underground transmission lines of 345kV (totaling approximately 44.6km divided into two circuits) and an overhead transmission line of 9km to interconnect with transmission line Ibiúna – Tijuco Preto C2.
The expected investment is around 1.1bn reais (US$230mn) and the maximum delivery date is March 2026.
The project was awarded at an auction held by electric power regulator Aneel in 2020, and has an annual permitted revenue (RAP) of 82mn reais.

Brazil’s national oil company Petrobras said it signed a protocol of intentions with the branch of the national service for industrial learning (Senai) in Rio Grande do Norte state, with the aim of creating joint strategies and actions in the areas of energy transition, renewable energy and decarbonization.
One of the potential outcomes is expanding the mapping of the offshore wind energy potential in the Brazilian equatorial margin.

Vibra Energia said it inaugurated six ultra-fast electric charging stations at Petrobras service stations, located on highways in the countryside of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Vibra now has seven Petrobras service stations ready to meet the demand for recharging and in the coming months another three will be added.

Petrobras set a monthly record for the production of S10 diesel in May, reaching 2.06Bl (billion liters).
With this result, the company surpassed the previous record of 1.93Bl, set in 2021.

EDP inaugurated the Nova Zelândia and Nova Almeida substations in Serra municipality, in Brazil’s Espírito Santo state.
In a release, the firm said it had also signed a service order for the construction of the Caçaroca substation, which will be located on the border of the Vila Velha, Cariacica and Viana municipalities, also in Espírito Santo.
The combined investment for the three substations is around 150mn reais.

TotalEnergies signed agreements with three Brazilian universities to develop renewable energy projects.
The company said in a release that it is investing 134mn reais in partnerships with the universities of Campinas (Unicamp), São Paulo (USP) and Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ).

Lemon Energia said it formed a partnership with Ludfor for three distributed generation solar plants in Brazil’s Minas Gerais state, with combined installed capacity of 6.5MW.
The partnership will allow Ludfor, through its generation unit Origem Energia, to rely on the digital services provided by Lemon Energia for part of its solar plant portfolio.
