Epic Investment Services Makes Top Executives Managing Partners

Epic Investment Services, a Toronto-based real estate firm with billions in assets under management in Canada and the United States, is making two of its top executives managing partners.

The new managing partners are CEO Craig Coleman and Laetitia Pacaud, who also is chief operating officer and chief financial officer. With the new appointments, they are are increasing their ownership in Epic.

Epic has CA$13 billion, or about $9.7 billion, in assets under management in Canada and the United States. It also has an apartment investment fund in the United States.

Over the past three-plus years, Epic expanded into the United States multifamily market with the launch of a fund to invest in apartments in that country. In March 2020, the same month the pandemic started, the fund made its first purchase in the United States with its acquisition of Las Brisas, a 176-unit complex in Las Vegas.

Epic paused its capital-raising efforts for the United States multifamily fund because of the fallout from the global health crisis and resumed the campaign in January 2021. Township Capital of the Los Angeles area joined the fund as lead investor. Last year Epic and Township sold Las Brisas for $40 million, nearly double the price paid when it was acquired.

Coleman has been with the company since 2017, when his company, StoneCap Realty Partners, merged with Epic Realty Partners to create Epic Investment Service.

He was first appointed as COO and then Co-CEO and has overseen the expansion of Epic’s investment management business and the company’s growth. He will remain CEO.

Pacaud started at Epic in 2019 through a merger. Under her leadership as COO and CFO, Epic created the United States multifamily fund and launched the One Planet Living Real Estate Impact Fund.

Headquartered in Toronto, Epic’s assets under management across Canada and the United States include 22 million square feet of office, retail, industrial and multifamily residential properties.

The company has a team of more than 170 real estate professionals operating from offices in Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton, and Vancouver.
