Members of the West Midlands Group of the National Vintage Tractor and Engine Club are holding this spectacular parade of tractors on Saturday, May 18. It is to raise money for Cancer Research UK.
The organisers of the forthcoming tractor run are Andy Tipping, a member of the National Vintage Tractor and Engine Club and farmer Simon Morris of Brick Barns Farm.
Andy said: “We started doing tractor runs in Christmas 2020. The first one wasn’t for charity donations. It was with Santa and Elves giving out some Christmas spirit after Covid.
“Then we did it again in 2021, raising money for Regency High School, Worcester.
“We didn’t do a Christmas run again, but in 2023 we did two tractor runs where we raised huge amounts for different charities.
“The first one we did was in April, 2023, where we raised money for Dementia UK. In October 2023, we did another where we raised money for the charity ‘We Are The Farming Minds’. Both of these runs were a massive success and a joy to the people driving tractors as well as the people in the local communities and villages who watched the parade of tractors.
“The one we are planning for May 18 is for the charity Cancer Research to support those who are suffering from this awful disease.”
The route for this run starts opposite the Brown Gate of the Three Counties Showground in Malvern at Brick Barns Farm. Tractors should meet from 9am on the Saturday, and the cavalcade will leave at 10am.
Once departed the tractors head off to Hanley Swan village, then along to Upton Upon Severn. Next they take a scenic route through some lovely countryside heading towards Berrow, then up Hollybush into Eastnor and on to Ledbury. After Ledbury they will be heading through Wellington Heath to Colwell and ending the route.
Andy said: “We will then park up at Colwell Green for photographs and refreshments.”
Anyone with a tractor, vintage or modern, is welcome to take part – the cost is a £10 donation to the charity.
