Taking place on Sunday, November 5, Specsavers teams in Burnley, Bolton, Hyde, and Leigh have their eyes on the prize and are determined to raise as much money as possible for their chosen charities; Bolton Hospice, Derian House Children’s Hospice, Dementia UK and Wigan and Leigh Hospice.
The tournament will be held at Power League Bolton in Levenshulme Park.
Also participating in the tournament is NHS eye health provider and official sponsor of the event, Spa Medica, bringing the total teams competing to five.
The five-a-side games will take place between 11am and 2pm, with snacks and refreshments available for competitors and observers.
Organised by keen footballer Umayr Zahid, the event will raise money for each store’s chosen charity.
Store director at Specsavers Burnley, Mark Addison said: ‘We’re thrilled to have so many of our local stores represented in the tournament.
“Each of the charities involved are incredibly deserving and regardless of the winner, we’re so happy to be bringing these great causes to the attention of people across Lancashire.
“All our teams have thrown themselves into preparing for the tournament and there is a small element of local rivalry, we can’t wait to see who wins on the big day.”
Umayr added: ‘I recently became a father for the first time, and it’s opened my eyes to how important family is. I’m passionate about helping other families who are doing all they can to support their loved ones, which has been reflected in each store’s chosen charity.
“The idea is that everyone will come together, have fun, connect and socialise – while raising money for a good cause.”
