Bowling club members responded to a charity’s call for help by hosting their own fundraising coffee morning.

Waterloo Bowling Club, on the banks of the River Ness, celebrated its 100th anniversary this year.

The coffee morning gave members and newcomers the chance to have a friendly game of bowls and enjoy the sunshine and a range of sweet treats at the same time.

They also had the chance to take part in a raffle run by club member Jenny Newitt, the day raising £168 for Chest, Heart and Stroke Scotland.

Club president Angus Shearer said: “It is the first time we have done an event like this in a while.

“It was a beautiful day. The atmosphere was good. It was just very nice and friendly.”

The club is always welcoming of new members.

It hosts friendly games at its own facility and also takes part in a number of competitions throughout the year, including entering the Scottish Championships.
