A Warrington mother of two, who is expecting her third child, has embarked on a swimming challenge to help raise funds for Diabetes UK.
Chanice Hale, aged 28 from Orford was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes in 1999 at the age of 4.
Commenting on the challenge Chanice said: “The aim of the challenge is to swim 11, 22 or 44 miles over a course of three months. With me being pregnant this year I’ve decided to just go for 11 miles, next year I’ll be getting those 22 miles in!
She added: “I am 24 weeks pregnant but this year during this pregnancy I’ve been able to actually enjoy it due to starting insulin pump therapy, and with that, I’ve decided to take one Swim22, a swimming challenge to help fundraiser for Diabetes in partnership with Diabetes U.K.
“I have 2 other children who are 5 and 2.5 – both have been in NICU due to not being able to keep their blood sugars up as babies, which could have been due to my insulin resistance from 20+ weeks with both children.
If anyone is able to either share her fund-raising link and follow her journey or alternatively make a donation please CLICK HERE where you’ll be able to see her progress up until June with the challenge!
Chanice added: “I’m swimming towards a healthier me, and a better future for people living with diabetes. You can support my challenge by hitting the donate button on my profile page, anything as little as £2 will make a big difference!”
