Exeter Community Lottery players are celebrating after winning cash prizes while raising much-needed funds for good causes in Exeter.
Congratulations to Ms W who won £250 in last Saturday’s draw while raising funds for Topsham Swimming Pool Association.
Three other Exeter winners also got received £25, while supporting the Central Fund, Ceramexe CIC Pottery Studio and Devon Family History Society.
The biggest winners of all are the good causes being supported – around 90 organisations are set to benefit by more than £55,000 this year thanks to the Exeter Community Lottery.
This week there’s also an extra reason to take part.
On Saturday 30 September the national Super Draw will take place, and one lucky person will win an amazing £1,500 IKEA gift card while supporting their favourite cause.
Players don’t have to do anything different – the normal weekly tickets will be automatically entered into the prize draw.
When people play the weekly lottery they have a chance to choose which good cause to support.
Fifty pence in every pound then goes to that cause, with 10p going towards the Exeter Central Fund. The rest of the money pays for prizes and administration.
Players can also choose to nominate the money to a central fund which then gets distributed among a host of good causes in the city.
Cllr Martin Pearce, Lead Councillor with responsibility for communities, said: “It looks as if people are recognising that Exeter has so many community groups, organisations and charities that need help and are opting to support them across the board.
“However, the other option is for people to pick a good cause close to their heart and ensure the benefit goes directly to them.”
Tickets cost just £1 (via direct debit or debit card) with the following prizes up for grabs:
- Match six balls and win £25,000
- Match five balls and win £2,000
- Match four balls and win £250
- Match three balls and win £25
- Match two balls and win three tickets
Draws take place every Saturday at 8pm with winners notified by email. Players can choose which cause to support when playing the Exeter Community Lottery.
