The European funds unit of the Republic of Cyprus’ Ministry of Interior – the managing authority of the Home Affairs Funds for the 2021-2027 programming period – published a call for proposals under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund (AMIF) programme.
The call for proposals concerns the funding of projects under the following specific objectives:
- Common European Asylum System: to “strengthen and develop all aspects of the system, including its external dimension.
- Legal migration and integration: to “strengthen and develop legal migration to the EU Member States, according to their financial and social needs, and to promote and facilitate the effective integration and social inclusion of third-country nationals” (TCNs).
The call invites proposals for the undertaking of the following projects:
- The etablishment and operation of an open reception centre for unaccompanied minors who are third-country nationals (TCNs)
- The establishment and operation of an open reception centre for vulnerable persons who are applicants for international protection
- Greek language courses for adults
- Greek language courses for minors
- The establishment of a migrant information centre (MIC)
Projects selected for funding will be established at easily accessible locations on the territory of the Republic of Cyprus, mainly in urban centres. The call will specify the geographical range within which each project may be implemented.
