In-person event:
During its initial mandate, the EU Platform on Sustainable Finance (PSF) played a crucial role in providing guidance and recommendations to the European Commission regarding the establishment of the EU sustainable finance framework. The PSF’s advice and input were instrumental in shaping the development of the EU Taxonomy.
Currently, the PSF is actively working to promote and improve the usability of the EU Taxonomy, as well as the broader sustainable finance framework, helping market participants embrace its implementation. Since January 2023, large non-financial undertakings have started to assess and report their alignment with the climate objectives under the Taxonomy Disclosures Delegated Act and, with the forthcoming implementation of the new Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), it is anticipated that around 50,000 organizations, including listed SMEs, will begin applying the Taxonomy.
In this evolving landscape, what are the existing tools, measures and guidance that can support financial institutions, corporates, and SMEs in developing sustainable investment solutions? What is still needed to enhance the usability, coherence, and effectiveness of the EU sustainable finance framework? How can the EU sustainable finance framework be used as an instrument to promote transition finance? How will the EU PSF foster the role of the EU Taxonomy as an effective instrument to enable the sustainable transition of the real economy?
