USA Rugby and Corporate Finance Institute partner to support Eagle Alumni Association with post-playing careers for USA National Team Athletes | Latest Rugby News

With the recent launch of the USA Rugby Eagle Alumni Association (EAA), USA Rugby and the EAA have partnered with the Corporate Finance Institute (CFI) to offer an incentive on educational services to current and retired USA Rugby National Team athletes interested in the corporate world during their post-playing careers, beyond the rugby pitch. A leading provider in real-world skills development, CFI offers extended career opportunities to all USA Eagles.

USA Rugby GM of Commercial and Events, Brandy Medran noted, “As with all sports, we understand an athlete’s on-field career does not last forever. This partnership with CFI offers our athletes another pathway to post-playing career options as they look ahead to the next chapter in life. We continue to encourage these initiatives as USA Rugby refocuses on the development of more support pathways for USA Eagles looking to expand their careers.”

Corporate Finance Institute (CFI) is the leading online provider of banking and finance training and certifications. Dedicated to equipping professionals with real-world skills and tools for success in today’s dynamic business world, CFI is the go-to resource for over 1.8 million individuals and hundreds of teams worldwide

CFI Strategic Partnerships Manager, Abby Gjerde added, “We are thrilled to initiate a collaboration with the USA Rugby team, offering players the chance to acquire practical skills that extend beyond the realm of sports. By working together, we have the potential to open up remarkable new avenues of opportunity for these individuals.”

Through the Eagle Alumni Association, all current and former USA National Team players across sevens and XVs will be offered a discounted rate to CFI services should they be interested in exploring the corporate and financial world. Five scholarships have also been made available for application with former USA Eagles as part of the partnership, for those immediately interested in the opportunity.

USA Eagle Alum and EAA Representative, Shalom Suniula added, “EAA is equally thrilled about the partnership with CFI. Resources and services on offer by CFI are critical building blocks for life after rugby, a strategic part of EAA’s initial efforts to help support a seamless transition.”
