Low-income families already benefiting from rent assistance in the United States | USA Diario
Registration has begun for the Section 8 program that allows thousands of low-income families to pay their monthly rent. Orange County, Los Angeles, is receiving applications from those who are eligible for this financial relief.
Initially, the relief is expected to reach residents of Anaheim, but families in other nearby cities will also be eligible. The program administrator, Miriam Sepeda, commented that the project is inclusive and hopes that many will be able to benefit in the short term.
The application must be made online. Those with limited financial resources will be classified as eligible. An important fact: they must have an active e-mail account to check often the status of the application.
How to apply for financial assistance?
Anyone who lives or works in Anaheim can apply for this financial resource, as can veterans. For obvious reasons, they must prove that they work or reside there. Meanwhile, the deadline to apply for the relief is April 6, 2023, at 4:59 p.m., right at 4:59 in the afternoon. Applications have been received since March 8.
As soon as the deadline to apply for Section 8 relief ends, 10,000 people will be chosen through a lottery. This will designate each position on the waiting list. Those who formally apply will be notified of their status by e-mail by April 20.
The waiting period can vary from months to years. It all depends on the actual need of eligible families. It is recommended to seek more information on the subject by calling 714-765-4654. A team of experts on the subject will attend to those interested Monday through Friday between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m. Another option is to visit the website Anaheim.net/applysection8.
