Notably, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping were represented by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Premier Li Qiang, respectively.
During the summit’s inaugural day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi made significant announcements. He unveiled the New Delhi G20 Leadership Declaration, highlighting the reaffirmation of the group’s national positions and resolutions, previously adopted at the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) and the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). The declaration underscored the adverse consequences of the Ukraine conflict on global supply chains, macro-financial stability, inflation, and economic growth.

Furthermore, G20 leaders urged for the full and timely implementation of a UN-brokered agreement, enabling Ukraine to export its grain through the Black Sea to international markets. The leaders reiterated the importance of upholding food and energy security and called for the cessation of military actions and attacks on relevant infrastructure, as articulated in the G20 declaration.
As the G20 Summit enters its second day, the global community anticipates constructive dialogues and collaborative efforts toward addressing the formidable challenges facing the world today.
