It probably won’t come as a surprise to learn that Britain’s priciest seaside locations are all in the South West. According to the Lloyds Bank Coastal Homes Review, Salcombe tops the list with an average property price of £970,657, followed by Sandbanks at £957,739, then Padstow where the typical buyer pays nearly £702,000.
“Sea views, sandy beaches, brisk morning dips — it’s easy to see why coastal living is so desirable,” says Amanda Bryden, head of mortgages at Lloyds Bank.
“The most sought-after locations attract average price tags of close to a million pounds — with in-demand properties often going for much more. There are more affordable places by the sea, especially the further north you head.”
