When is the next bank holiday in the UK? August date and how many are left in 2023

Summer is coming to a close and while the weather has been pretty unpredictable in the UK over the last few months, many of us are hopeful it will stay bright and dry for the summer bank holiday. In 2023, the next bank holiday in England and Wales falls on the last weekend in August.

It means many of us will be getting an extra day off work, making for a three-day weekend. The summer bank holiday in question officially falls on Monday, August 28.

It’s the last one for a while, with the final two bank holidays this year being Christmas Day and Boxing Day. There have been nine bank holidays in total in 2023, thanks to the extra one on Monday, May 8 for the King’s Coronation.
