Overall purpose of role
The US Consumer Bank (USCB) Partnership Accounting team within Financial Control plays a critical role in ensuring that USCB Partners are compensated appropriately in accordance with contractual revenue/profit share agreements and that the results are accounted for appropriately in Barclays’ financial statements.
Key Accountabilities
• Accountable for the accuracy of the revenue/profit share payments to Barclays’ credit card Partners in accordance with the contractual agreements
• Ensure compliance with US GAAP and IFRS principles for all partner-related activities, including compensation/revenue-share, cardmember benefits, promotional campaigns, rewards liability, etc
• Continuously improve the control environment to address all risks associated with partner payments and the associated accounting
• Provide thought leadership and best practice for process improvement and automation, including the development of a new partner revenue/profit share system
• Ensure that new partner agreements and/or products are seamlessly integrated into current processes or through new capabilities
• Key point of contact for internal and external auditors, SOX, and Controls teams
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
This role involves interaction with leaders in the business (Partnership Managers) and Finance, in addition to ongoing coordination with other Finance functions (CFO Business Partnering, Cost Finance, Technical Accounting).

This role requires the ability to
• Independently assess risks and design/implement controls to mitigate the risks
• Make sound decisions based on a detailed understanding of end to end processes and data analysis
• Effectively prioritize work to ensure critical deadlines are met
• Self-starter with the ability to define and lead initiatives from scratch or with a limited instruction/details
Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Person Specification
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent
• Demonstrated progressive experience managing teams in banking/financial institutions
• Strong experience designing process flows, risk assessment, and controls implementation
• Strong leadership, teamwork, interpersonal and communication skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
• Expert in Co-Brand partner revenue/profit sharing
• Experience with accounting for a credit card business, especially CoBrand Partnerships
• CPA, or equivalent Accounting qualification, with strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS accounting principles
• Strong understanding of data principles/analysis including experience with critical data elements
