UK Green Business Awards: Lloyds Banking Group welcomed as sponsor for Green Heat Project of the Year

Lloyds Banking Group has been named as sponsor of the Green Heat Project of the Year award at this year’s UK Green Business Awards, which is set to take place on the evening of 12 June at The Brewery in central London.

BusinessGreen is delighted to welcome the UK’s largest financial services provider as the latest category sponsor for the UK’s most prestigious celebration of the green business community, which is set to bring together over 500 top executives to showcase the best of the green economy.

Since 2022, Lloyds Banking Group has funded £29bn of sustainable financing and invested more than £21.7bn in climate-aware strategies through Scottish Widows, as it continues to join up all parts of its business to support the transition to a low carbon economy.

Helping to green UK homes and buildings is also a top priority for the company, which as one of the UK’s largest mortgage lenders finances around one in five of all UK mortgages.

To date, Lloyds has committed to providing £10bn-worth of mortgage lending for EPC A and B-rated properties for energy efficiency by the end of 2024, having already achieved £7.5bn in EPC A/B mortgage lending between January 2022 – September 2023. 

Last year alone, meanwhile, the company also supported over 30,000 mortgage applications for more energy efficient properties and launched a new partnership with Effective Home for residential solar.
