TSB banking app suffers major outage as customers say they cannot log into accounts


According to DownDetector, over 1,700 users reported issues with the app, leaving them unable to access their accounts and frustrated TSB customers took to social media to vent their annoyance this morning

TSB customers reported being unable to log into their mobile banking app this morning as the service suffered an outage.

According to DownDetector, over 1,700 users reported issues with the app, leaving them unable to access their accounts. Frustrated TSB customers took to social media to vent their annoyance this morning with some having tried to access the app “for hours”. Some reported outages of the banking app services last night.




One X user wrote: “@TSB tsb banking completely not working app and online always last day of every month complete joke” A second added: “@TSB mobile app is not working AGAIN.”

Another said: “@TSB hi cannot access my TSB app or online banking. App is saying ‘we weren’t able to do that’ online is saying ‘sorry, we are currently experiencing technical issues. Please try later’. When will this be fixed as I need to access my account.” A fourth banking customer asked the bank if their app “ever worked” while another said “why does it always happen on the day you’ve got loads of bills to pay”.

Another customer fumed as they needed the app today. They said: “Come on @TSB! I need the app today you close all the branches down and still cant allow us to use the app! What are you expecting people to do exactly??”.

Some customers report getting an error message when they try to log in and others say the app will simply not log them in. Others say they cannot get through the “fingerprint” stage of the login process. TSB has noted the issues customers are facing on their “service status” page on their website. At the time of writing, the banking chain said their internet and mobile banking services were “Intermittent”. The website says: “We’re aware that customers are experiencing issues with our digital services. We’re sorry for any inconvenience and are working hard to resolve it.”

All of the bank’s other services including its telephone banking are classed as “available”. You can find their services page here. TSB has not officially made a comment on the issue.
