Thousands in the UK can apply for free £150 cost of living vouchers from TODAY – and you could get the cash by Christmas. Applications will reopen at 10am on Thursday, November 2 for low-income households and people struggling in the Dorset Council area.
Thousands can apply for free £150 cost of living vouchers today. To qualify, you must have an annual household net income of less than £30,000, and savings of less than £16,000, and you must not have applied for a previous Household Support Fund payment within the last six months.
Councillor Laura Beddow, Dorset Council Portfolio Holder for Culture, Communities and Customer Services said: “Round 4 of the Household Support Fund is here to provide a helping hand to low-income households in the Dorset Council area. Starting on 2 November, we’re reopening this support that offers supermarket vouchers to those in need.
“We’re committed to ensuring our community’s needs are met.” The local authority worker went on saying: “If you do miss out on this window, another will open on Tuesday 5 December at 10am.” Calculations for the annual net income should not include Personal Independence Payments, Disability Living Allowance, Attendance Allowance, Carers Allowance, or Child Benefit, the local authority added.
The council says: “Citizens Advice in Dorset are managing some of the Fund on our behalf via a voucher scheme. Supermarket vouchers of £150 will be issued to residents who meet the eligibility criteria within 6 to 8 weeks of their application date. Applications are limited to one per household.
“Unsuccessful applicants will be notified by Citizens Advice.” The government released a fourth round of funding from April 2023. If you are not a Dorset Council resident, contact your local council for details of their scheme, the local authority says in its guide for the scheme.
