The Baltimore Ravens team defeated the Philadelphia Eagles in the preseason game at home with a score of 20:19 in front of 70,000 spectators at the “M&T Bank” stadium. It was the 24th consecutive win for the “Ravens” in preseason matches.
The last time Baltimore lost dates back to the 2015 preseason, against the Atlanta Falcons on Sept. 3. The winning streak started on August 10, 2016, with a victory against the Panthers in the preseason opener. It includes 13 wins by a margin of 10 points or more, with five of them being against Washington. This makes their streak the longest in this category by far.
During preseason, it’s crucial to prioritize injury prevention and experimentation with various players and tactics over winning. Interestingly, the Baltimore Ravens have secured an impressive 24 consecutive preseason victories, a feat that’s not easily explained. While the team undoubtedly possesses certain advantages, it’s possible that luck also contributes to their success. Also, the previous 19-game record held by the Vince Lombardi-era Green Bay Packers was passed in 2021.
“It’s always good to win in this league. Wins are appreciated because they are always difficult to achieve in the NFL,” Ravens quarterback Josh Johnson said after the win. The turning point of the preseason match came in the third quarter when Huntley threw a touchdown pass to Wallace.
However, despite the incredible streak, the Ravens never got close to playing in the Super Bowl in these seven years.
