A couple have been roasted after sharing the ‘banking-themed’ names they chose for their three children.

The parents, from the US, announced the birth of their son with a sign in their front garden which was then shared on social media.

The sign showed the kids’ three names: Forbes, Ledger and Banks.

Their picture was later shared on Reddit, with the post reading ‘When you want to be a Fortune 500 company CEO but all you have is a bunch of kids’.

It wasn’t long before dozens of others weighed in to roast the parents’ choices.

‘I just threw up a little bit in my mouth,’ one commenter wrote.

Another added: ‘Little JP Morgan is coming in 2024’.

While a third wrote: ‘What a damn weird theme for naming your kids. And none of them are even decent names on their own’.

Some were quick to poke fun and said they must be rich if they have three children:

‘Three kids, who could afford that BUT a Fortune 500 CEO?’ one person wrote.

Meanwhile, other users theorised what they could call any future kids.

‘They’re saving the best name for a daughter, Bankruptceigh,’ one said.

Other suggestions were Cash, Equity, Fortune, Merger, and Merrill Lynch.

Previously, baby name experts from Nameberry shared 23 baby names predicted to be ‘rising stars’ in 2023, and there are some unusual monikers in the list.

The team from parenting website Nameberry highlighted some traditional names including Louise and Archie, as well as other completely unexpected options like Luxury, Yuna and Marigold.

Top of the list was the boys’ name Alden, but many Nameberry experts said it works for a girl as well as a baby boy.

‘I’ve seen quite a few parents considering this handsome name lately – mostly for their sons, but it could easily work for a girl too,’ Nameberry said.

They added that the name Alden feels ‘charming, understated, old-school and a little bit woodsy’.

In a similar vein, the experts highlighted Archie as a choice that’s growing in popularity, not least thanks to the influence of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s eldest son.
