Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) – United States joins the NEA Data Bank


The Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) is pleased to announce the United States’ decision to join the NEA Data Bank, marking a significant stride in international collaboration for nuclear energy research, safety and knowledge exchange.

The NEA Data Bank has always stood as an international centre for co-operation, facilitating the sharing of vital information, scientific research and technical expertise among its participating countries. With the United States becoming a part of this community, the NEA Data Bank gains a strong proponent in its mission to advance the peaceful use of nuclear energy.

The United States’ decision to join the NEA Data Bank underscores its commitment to global energy security, environmental sustainability and technological innovation. As a country renowned for its scientific and technological excellence, the United States will undoubtedly enrich the Data Bank’s repository of data, software and benchmarks, and enhance its role in fostering responsible nuclear development.

By contributing its expertise and engaging in collaborative endeavors, the United States will bolster the NEA Data Bank’s efforts to promote the safe and secure utilisation of nuclear energy. This partnership will drive advancements in nuclear research, facilitate the development of innovative technologies, contribute to international standards for verification and validation, and help set high standards for nuclear safety across borders.

NEA Director-General William D.
