Thompson, who was facing a February jury trial, was charged April 6 in Allen Superior Court and entered a guilty plea Oct. 30. He was sentenced on the intimation charge to 2 years and 180 days of probation with 2 days of jail credit. First he must serve 180 days of probation for the harassment charge.

Thompson, who recently turned 34, called Banks’ congressional office at least eight times — once on April 6 and seven times on April 11 — and left several threatening messages, according to a probable cause affidavit filed in court. The filing also said Thompson made vulgar statements toward Banks’ wife and made death threats about Banks and his daughters.
