Jefferies has hired a former senior research analyst at Morgan Stanley to bolster its UK investment banking team, as the Wall Street bank continues to bolster its operations in the region.
Richard Taylor, who led Morgan Stanley’s European consumer research function until his departure in 2021, has joined Jefferies as a managing director within its UK investment banking team, according to people familiar with the matter.
For the past two years he has been running his own consulting firm, Bel Air Brands, according to his LinkedIn profile.

At Jefferies, Taylor will report into head of UK investment banking, Philip Noblet. He will focus on the consumer products and consumer healthcare sectors, the people said, as well as covering private equity clients.
Taylor started out at Goldman Sachs before joining Morgan Stanley in 2006, where he spent over 15 years. He has also worked as a consultant with McKinsey, advising C-suite executives in the consumer sector.
Jefferies has been bolstering its European investment bank in recent years, adding dozens of managing directors as it looks to compete with larger rivals. Last month, it hired Sven Baumann from Barclays to lead its investment bank in Germany.
