As a Barclays Investment Banking AML Investigations Team Leader, you will manage a team of investigators responsible for investigating automated alerts generated by system and manual cases. You’ll review SARs and be a member of the BCI Suspicious Activity Report Review Committee (SARRC) responsible for voting and approving for review by investigators. Ensuring compliant with policies and procedures relating to AML investigations, meeting statutory and regulatory obligations for reporting suspicious activity will be part of your role.

What will you be doing?
• Managing the day-to-day operations of a team of investigators conducting investigations of automated alerts and referrals from internal and external sources
• Tracking MI on case and investigator productivity, and ensuring case queues are actively managed in line with procedures
• Reviewing and approving case summaries, investigation reports, and SAR filings and ensuring such documents are clear and concise and comply with requirements
• Providing oversight and quality assurance of any outputs produced by the team; providing training to the team and addressing the team’s professional development
• Attending senior management and oversight meetings to provide updates and interfacing with regulators and auditors, and action results from regulatory exams and internal audits
• Collaborating with the Global Surveillance Transaction Monitoring team and Compliance Technology to optimize automated surveillance systems and product risk assessments
• Managing and disseminating monthly global MI highlighting trends and patterns, spikes in automated alerts or internal referrals, and escalating issues
• Helping assess the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls against emerging AML risks and trends
What we’re looking for:
• 4-year college degree or international equivalent
• Over five years of AML Compliance and Bank Secrecy Act or other relevant experience
• More than five years’ experience of using Microsoft office applications and internet search tools
• Experience leading or managing others and working in the investment banking or broker-dealer space
Skills that will help you in the role:
• CAMS certification, CFE, JD or other advanced degree or certification
• Law enforcement or government agency experience in supervising investigations, and leading teams of investigators
