Robert Half Financial Services is recruiting for a Head of Corporate Credit/Lending for a boutique International Bank located in midtown Manhattan, New York. Our client requires 15+ years of Credit Underwriting/Analysis, Portfolio Management and Team Management experience at an International Corporate Bank. The role manages a team of 6 people, knowledge of both CRE and C&I markets is required, covering Cash Flow Lending/Asset Based Lending/Investment Grade/Unsecured/Specialty Finance. This role is hybrid remote requiring 3 days per week (but may increase) in the midtown Manhattan New York office.
Responsibilities:
- Effective and timely management of a portfolio of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) and Commercial & Industrial (C&I) loans including routine and ad-hoc review, risk rating assessment, and adherence to regulatory compliance requirements.
- Oversee credit underwriting including due diligence, credit proposal preparations, legal documentation, and closing.
- Workout and re-structure troubled loans.
- Monitor portfolio performance and make recommendations to business and risk areas.
- Responsible for accurate and timely routine and ad-hoc internal and external reporting requirements.
- Responsible for handling the unit’s internal audits and regulatory exams including preparation for audits, closing open issues, and implementing recommendations on a timely manner.
- Handle inquiries/requests from head office.
- Manage a staff of seasoned corporate bankers and support staff. Establish KPIs and monitor and evaluate performance. Develop junior staff.
- Construct, prepare, and present the annual business plan and participate in the long term plans.
- Present to management, actual vs plan analysis for monthly, quarterly, and annual performance.
- Assess the need for resources and make recommendations.
- Participate in special projects as assigned by the General Manager.
- Establish a focused and frequent calling effort on existing deal sponsors and borrower as well as prospective deal sources.
- Cross sell efforts with head office and other international branch locations.
- Increase share of C&I and Trade Finance of the overall portfolio.
Requirements:
- 15+ years of Credit Underwriting/Analysis and Portfolio Management experience at an International Corporate Bank
- Knowledge of both Commercial & Industrial (C&I) and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) markets
- Experience managing and developing a team of corporate credit professionals
- Formal Credit training at a major financial institution is preferred
- Bachelor Degree in Finance, Math, Engineering or related subject
