Call for UK Bank Holiday as England make it to World Cup final

England fans are ecstatic about making it through to a World Cup Final – now they want a day off. The women’s team triumphed over hosts Australia to make it to the final.

Now, the message to Rishi Sunak is clear – if we win, there should be a bank holiday. There’s one game to get through first – the England team, who are current European champions, have to face Spain first.

That came after a 3-1 semi-final victory with goals from Ella Toone, Lauren Hemp and Alessia Russo. Meanwhile, people have taken to social media to call for a bank holiday to mark the moment.

The tournament’s closing match will take place at Stadium Australia, Sydney. The bookies are struggling to split the two teams.

However, the view on the bank holiday is clear. Kaff0 tweeted: “If the men’s team won the World Cup they would have declared a national bank holiday. So, I’m calling on Rishi Sunak to declare a bank holiday when the ladies get the job done, it only fair.”

Scholar Tee said: “Yooo!!! We could have a bank holiday next week if England. Lionesses win the women’s World Cup. C’mon!!!” Shelle 42 added: “A Bank Holiday on Monday if they win!!! Though I know there’s one at end of August! Come on Lionesses!!”
