The Lee family, who owns Peerless Beverage Company, says the holiday season is all about giving back.
“We’ve been working with the food bank for over 25 years now, and it’s just important for us to be able to give back to community during this special time of year to make sure that everybody obviously has a great Thanksgiving,” Ed Lee said.
“March, April, May, July — food insecurity has no particular month. It’s all the time,” Tyler said.
That’s so true, according to the CEO of CFBNJ, Elizabeth McCarthy.
“Every dollar donated to the Community Food Bank of New Jersey can provide three meals to a New Jerseyan in need, so your money really goes a long way,” she said. “It’s a year-round problem. People don’t always realize, New Jersey, they think of it as a wealthy state. There’s three-quarters of a million people in New Jersey who are food insecure.”
“And how’s it going so far?” Wragge asked.
“It’s going great. People are incredibly generous, and it’s just so nice to see,” McCarthy said.
