Bank of America branches closing soon in Florida

Last year, Bank of America and other financial institutions closed hundreds of locations. Although the pace of closures is lower than last year, the country will continue to experience more of them in 2024, including some in the state of Florida.

Some of the closures are related to the profitability of the branches, but they have also occurred because the banking needs of their clients have changed, since more transactions are currently performed outside physical branches.

This is why some banking institutions have decided to focus on the rise of online banking, improving these services, which reduce in-person procedures.

For locations that will no longer provide service, customers can check with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

Banks must notify the OCC of closures at least 90 days before the date they plan to suspend operations. Such notification is made through an Advance Branch Closing Notice, which are shared on the OCC web portal, organized in weekly bulletins.

Taking into account that the closure announcement must be made at least 90 days in advance, we can estimate that the February and March bulletins include information on the Bank of America branches that could begin to close starting this month and June.

According to Advance Notices of Closings, shared in February and March, these are the locations of Bank of America branches that could soon close in Florida:

  • 50 NORTH LAURA STREET, JACKSONVILLE, FL
  • 21060 SAINT ANDREWS BOULEVARD, BOCA RATON, FL
  • 19645 BISCAYNE BOULEVARD, AVENTURA, FL
  • 1200 WEST OSCEOLA PARKWAY, KISSIMMEE, FL

On the other hand, in May the upcoming closure of this branch in the ‘Sunshine State’ was reported, which could close sometime in August: 1827 NORTH MILITARY TRAIL WEST, PALM BEACH, FL.
