Are Banks and Post Offices open today?

With easter Sunday now behind us, much of the festivities have come to an end and, unless plans have been made for Easter Monday, it is time to think about getting back to normal life.

After the benefits of a rest, many people suddenly feel productive and there may be plenty of public services that they want to use whilst getting a few odd jobs and errands done.

That could mean a trip to perhaps the bank or the post office, something that can’t be done during Easter Sunday. As for the Monday, many assume that the United States Postal Service is also closed on that day too.

The offices are closed every Sunday regardless of whether there is a holiday or not, but they will be open as normal on Monday, April 10. There will also be mail delivery as normal on Monday.

What about the banks?

Many Christian-dominant countries still treat Easter Monday as a public holiday and they close all of the banks, the government offices and some local businesses will also be closed.

The US government is different though. They do not observe the Monday as a federal holiday. That means that you will find the banks open for business as normal on Monday, April 10.

It is not necessarily the case for every single bank out there, but here is a list of banks in the USA that are expected to be open on April 10:

  • Bank of America
  • Bank of the West
  • BMO Harris Bank
  • Capital One
  • Chase
  • Citi
  • Citizens Bank
  • Fifth Third Bank
  • First Citizens Bank
  • Huntington
  • M&T Bank
  • Regions Bank
  • Santander Bank
  • TD Bank
  • Wells Fargo
