The organisers of this year’s Great British Entrepreneur Awards have announced that Allica Bank is the new headline partner for this popular event. The 2023 ceremony takes place this evening at London’s Grosvenor House Monday, November 20th, and is expected to be attended by more than 1,500 industry leaders.
Dubbed the ‘Grammys of Entrepreneurship,’ the newly-titled Allica Bank Great British Entrepreneur Awards usually attracts around 5,000 entries per year. This will be the fifth instalment of the prestigious gala dinner.
Francesca James, the awards’ founder, said: “I couldn’t be more excited about our partnership with Allica Bank. Their commitment to empowering UK businesses aligns perfectly with our mission to champion entrepreneurs from across Britain.
“Together, we aim to provide an unparalleled platform for business growth and success. The Awards is not just a ceremony but a community that supports and champions entrepreneurs at various stages of their journey.
“The programme culminates in a gala evening attended by industry leaders, innovators and the media, while our judging panel includes esteemed business personalities. In 2023, the judges willinclude the founders of iconic British brands such as Specsavers, Poundland, and Innocent. Our aim is to discover and recognise the brilliance that exists within the entrepreneurial community.”
As with previous years, the ceremony will highlight excellence among British entrepreneurs. Former winners have included Steven Bartlett who is a high-profile dragon in the BBC flagship program Dragons Den.
Jordan Brompton of myenergi, and BrewDog founder James Watt, are other winners who have not only revolutionised their industries but have also become catalysts for economic growth and job creation.
These Awards have a strong track record of identifying exceptional entrepreneurs before they become household names. Other success stories include: Johnny and Pauline Paterson (Dr PawPaw), Hannah and Sophie Pycroft (Spectrum Collections), Philip Belmont (Zilch), Justin Basini (ClearScore), Lizzie Carter (Only Curly) and Dave Linton (MadLUG).
As for the new headline partner of these Awards, Allica Bank, the business itself is a highly entrepreneurial company, having only launched at the end of 2019. It is currently one of the fastest growing companies in the UK and, in just under four years, has already provided £1.7bn of lending to SMEs.
Richard Davies, chief executive of Allica Bank, said: “We’re extremely excited to be sponsoring this year’s Great British Entrepreneur Awards. Allica is highly entrepreneurial and growing fast. Therefore, we have a real affinity with the individuals and businesses that these Awards recognise.
“We understand the enormous contribution entrepreneurs make to the British economy, although this is often overlooked. This year’s awards are a fantastic opportunity to celebrate our community of innovators, and we are honoured to be involved.”
