A Bournemouth tattoo parlour has decided to branch out and is now accepting payment in cryptocurrency.
Timebomb Tattoo and Piercing, Old Christchurch Road, Bournemouth, says it is leading the way in the tattoo industry to offer options to pay in cryptocurrency.
The parlour has embraced the new form of currency and will allow customers to pay using bitcoin to provide greater convenience to tech-savvy customers.
Richie Hudson, owner of Timebomb, said: “We are thrilled to continue leading technological advancements in our industry. Our paperless piercing app, developed in 2005, has been a game-changer, and now, with the integration of Bitcoin payments, we’re providing our clients with even more options to suit their preferences in the modern age.
“The decision to accept Bitcoin payments was a natural progression for us. We recognize the growing importance of cryptocurrency in the modern world, and we want to make the tattoo and piercing experience as seamless as possible for our clients.”
Richie has maintained that Timebomb always works to be on top of technology as it evolves.
Established in 2005, it was first parlour to go paperless and this has seen several studios in the UK become more environmentally friendly.
Opening his second store in Bournemouth in November 2022 in Lansdowne, he moved the store to its new address recently and opened doors on February 1.
He said: “We literally just opened the studio a few weeks ago. I was involved with the studio in Lansdowne but I wanted to open a studio 100% run by myself.
“I love the place and it’s a total change from the hustle and bustle of London. It’s a much better location with a lot of traffic walking past. I have been looking for a new location for several months and when this one appeared, I jumped on it.”
While not a mainstream payment, Richie has been involved with cryptocurrency for seven years and believes it is the future.
He said: “I wanted to get in there towards the start and it’s just just extra way for people to pay. It’s a lot faster and cheaper in my view.”
